1 year since surgey

Postby catwoman on Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:15 pm

Well I have noticed that no one really posts on here anymore, so I thought I would again so maybe traffic would pick up. I love the program SOBC has & the supprt groups are full of information. I wish I could attend them. IF you are not currently going to the group check it out, there is lots of support there for you. So I had Lap RNY 3/20/09 so I have just made it past the one year mark. It has been a exciting journey just like a roller coaster. Full of both ups nd downs. I have loss 100lbs and am enjoying life to its fullest. Along with all of the fun stuff there has been a few setbacks. I am sill having to watch my blood glucose levels and have starting counseling to deal with my underlying food issues. I am so glad that I chose to have this surgery, it has definately changed my life for the better.

Thanks Kathleen, I cant even express all that has happened in the last year. I wish everyone with upcoming surgery good luck & speedy recovery. Maybe one of these days I will have to come over the hill & visit a seminar. I think that would be lots of fun.

Hi Catherine,
It would be wonderful to have you share your journey at a bariatric symposium. I hope you have kept a journal. Speaking from personal experience, 10 years post op, we forget some of the really significant milestones the further out from surgery we get. Having something to remind us of what an incredible journey our life has been is always such a wonderful opportunity for us to really appreciate ourselves and those who have touched our lives. I know that is true for me with all my patients.

We would love to be able to include your testimonial on our website or in a future newsletter if that is something you would enjoy doing.

Hope you can make it on June 7th to the special event.

All the best,
kathleen

I actually received my letter yesterday & am going to register today. I will have to leave work a little early to make it on time, but I have a great supportive boss, so i dont think it will be any problem. See you there.
