The Web can be a very useful tool for healthy lifestyle changes and weight loss guidance. Below are several sites that are free and offer practical, user-friendly help that will complement your time and education while preparing for and proceeding through with your weight -loss surgery program.  We recommend that you simply go to each site, maneuver around, and then if you wish register with one site and let this be an adjunct web-based support for long term success.

This is a wonderfully educational site. Simply register before surgery and start using the food journal. Once your surgery has been completed, you will have access to ongoing educational modules in diet, exercise and behavior modification as well as other fun tools!

2.  www.obesityhelp.com

ObesityHelp.com is a great website to connect with people who have had or are considering bariatric surgery.  This site has great personal accountability tools and resources to support you in your long term success. Check it out!

3.www.calorielookup.com
Simple, user friendly, easy to navigate. No registration required to access the calorie counter and calories burned features. If you want to create an ongoing food diary and exercise diary you need to create an account. Requested information is Username, Password, Email address, Weight, Height, Year of birth, and Gender. They specifically state they never, ever sell your email address. If you do not want to receive offers, simply check No. No community chat forums.

Takes a little getting used to for navigating around but once familiar with the design is user friendly and fast. Registration required to create food and exercise diaries. Requested information is Username, Password, Email address, First and Last name, Town, State, Zip, Weight, Height, Desired Weight, Year of birth, Gender, Current medical conditions. They do not sell or share your personal information. Offers Community Chat Forums, Recipes, Conversion tables, Exercise Planner, and much more.

Registration required with name, password, gender, zip code, and age. You can track your daily calories consumed and daily activity level. They offer a wide selection of weight management tools including: recipes, weight tracking, goal setting, calendars, chat-room community and journaling which you can opt to share if you like. They do not sell or share you personal information.

Registration required for free services (also has a Gold membership for approximately $45/year.) Free services request the following information: Username, Email address, Password, Gender, Date of Birth, Zip Code. The site specifically states they do not sell or share your personal information without your consent.
